Arrival Of World's first Solar Car

 


The world's first solar car is set to make it's entry in the market in late 2022. Light year, which is an Electronic Vehicles startup in Netherlands has revealed the this very new and amazing solar powered car. The Solar power car is called as 'light year 0'. According to the dutch company the range of the new car is 625 km (388 miles)  out of which 71 km (44 miles) is based on solar power. 

The dutch company which was founded 6 years ago in Netherlands.After 6 years of research and hardwork the solar car is finally all set to hit the roads. The new vehicle has solar panels which allows it to charge while driving or sitting in sun. At a total cost of $263,000 the company will be producing 949 units if this new kind. 

The CEO of light year says " a person who commutes below 35 km can drive for months without recharging. It depends on climatic conditions as well,  In climates such as Netherlands it would be two months and in climates of Portugal and Spain it would be approximately seven months".

A 60 kwh battery and 4 electric motors are installed in the vehicle which helps the car to get a speed of  100km/h in just 10 seconds. It can still be charged using home socket at a range of 32 kilometers per hour. 

Other than Light year some other companies including Aptera, which is a US based startup and Sono motors which is a german based startup are also working on solar powered electric cars. The company has announced to accept the pre orders for light year 0 towards late 2022 and has also claimed to bring more affordable cars in the market by the year 2025.

Changan Launched Its New Electric Vehicle 'Shenlan SLO3 EV' In China

Changan launched the latest Electric Vehicle (EV) in China named as Shenlan SLO3 EV. This new vehicle has been jointly developed by Changan New Energy, CATL, and Huawei. Before the new electric vehicle the trio has developed Avatr and Changan Lumin working jointly.  Experts believe this new project of the trio has been focusing mainly to beat Tesla model 3. After the Chongqing Auto Show in China the pre-orders of Shenlan SlO3 had already been started which starts at a price of 179,800 Yuan or PKR 5,600,000. If compared with Tesla model 3, the SLO3 is 106 mm longer in size while it has a 25 mm longer wheelbase.  At first two Changan will release two versions of SL03 with tge first one having 160-KW electric motor while the second one will have 190 kW and also power both axles.
